1. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO PH.D. PROGRAMME:

Subject to the conditions stipulated in the Ordinances, the following persons shall be eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme:

1.1 Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body of the University, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a

foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

1.2 A relaxation of 5% of marks (without including the grace), from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade shall be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non-creamy layer)/Divyang and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the State Government from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19th September, 1991.

1.3 Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. Course work with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and successfully completing the M.Phil. Degree shall be eligible to proceed to do research work leading to the Ph. D. Degree in the University as an integrated programme. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission/State Govt. from time to time.

1.4 A candidate whose M.Phil. Dissertation has been evaluated and the viva voce is pending may be admitted to the Ph.D. programme of the University, subject to his final result.

1.5 Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.

1.6 For Ph.D Degree in Allied subjects, candidate must have Master’s degree (as defend in 1.1) in the subject relevant to the prospered research work.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1  Information of the admission procedure shall be displayed on the University website. Candidates are advised to check the University website regularly for updates.

1.2  The Ph.D. program shall be Full time/Part time for regular University/College teachers. Part time program will be subject to the approval of competent authority.

1.3  Reservation shall be admissible as per U.P. State Government Reservation policy.

1.4  Candidates claiming benefit of reservation shall have to produce the Caste certificate which could be verified through Government website.

1.5  The Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will exclusively be given the benefit of reservation. Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes candidates of other States shall be treated as Unreserved.

1.6  Application Fee per subject is:

General and OBC category……Rs. 2000/-

S.C. and S.T. category…..Rs. 1500/-.

1.7  All fees deposited at the time of Application Form shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

1.8  All original certificates have to be produced at the time of interview to be held prior to course work. Photocopies or internet copies and provisional degrees shall not be considered.

1.9  The Seat matrix would be prepared subject wise as per the National/State reservation policy.

Form filling guidelines:

Step 1 Registration

Applicants have to fill the relevant details in the registration form available on website. Fill it and save it. After that Applications will receive their Registration details in a PDF file. Applicants can preview all the entries made at this point. Take a printout of Registration form. If there is some error it can be edited or they may start the entire process again.

Step 2 Application form

After getting Registration Number, candidate will apply for the Ph.D. program in respective subject.

Step 3 Pay fees

After filling the form candidate will pay the requisite fee. Once they have submitted the application fee the data submitted in the registration page cannot be edited under any circumstances.

Step 4 Print Application form

Applicants can print their complete application form with fee details After successful payment process, application form will be available on website.

Step 5 Submission of hard copy

Applicant shall submit the hard copy of application form alongwith all the relevant self attested documents (X,XII,Graduation, Post Graduation, M.Phil., Cast etc. Marksheet, degree) to: by speed post.

The minimum qualification for admission to Master’s degree course in Forestry shall be B.Sc. in Forestry, Agriculture, B.E./B. Tech., B.Sc. (Hons.) in Bio-chemistry, Biophysics, Mathematics, Micro-biology, Zoology, Botany, Geology with 50% marks.

The minimum qualification for admission to Master’s degree course in Environmental Science shall be:
(a) Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks in aggregate with Chemistry/ Zoology/ Botany/ Forestry / Environmental Science as one of the subjects. 
(b)Bachelor’s degree in any one of the following subjects: Bio-technology, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Bio-chemistry, Life Science and Home Science with 50% marks in aggregate shall also eligible. 
(c) Either an average of 55% marks in two examinations prior to the Bachelor’s degree i.e. High School and Intermediate or Bachelor’s Degree examinations counted together or 50% marks in each of the above examination separately.
