The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon'ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR PGDBA (BATCH 2022-24):
· A candidate must hold a graduate/post graduate degree with any of the following: 10+2+4/10+2+5/10+2+3+2, with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Tech./ B.E./ M.Sc./ M.Com. or equivalent). One-year MBA will not be considered equivalent of M.Sc./M.Com.
· Candidates with 10+3(Engineering diploma) +3(lateral entry into B.E./B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Tech./ B.E.), or with 10+2+4(B.Sc.) with at least 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in the Qualifying Degree (i.e., B. Sc.), or with B.Com. + CA with at least 60% marks (Intermediate and Final examinations of the CA considered together) are also eligible.
· For SC/ ST and Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates, the qualifying marks for eligibility shall be 55% or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
· The CGPA will not be converted into percentage marks even if the degree awarding Institute provides marks in CGPA system. Their admission will be based on the CGPA awarded in the tran. If the CGPA is on a different scale than 10, the eligibility of a candidate will be based on the equivalence of the CGPA on a 10-point scale.
Candidates, who are in the final year, are also eligible to apply provided they appear in the final examination and complete other academic requirements as specified above by July 31, 2022. For such cases, admission will be provisional subject to submission of final mark sheet by December 31, 2022.
Shortlisting criteria for Personal Interview (PI) to PGDBA (Batch 2022-24): Candidates will be shortlisted for Personal Interview (PI) based on their score in the PGDBA-2022 entrance exam.
Eligible candidates are requested to apply online. Self-attested documents should be uploaded. Application fee of Rs.2500/- (Rs.1250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories) has to be paid as a part of the application process. 3.1. All candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. program under the categories mentioned below shall have to possess requisite marks/grades in the qualifying degree as shown below:

1) Primary Eligibility Criteria
a) Reputation of the company or organization where the candidate is working.
• The companies (private/government), research organizations, Ministries of Central and State Governments wherein the candidate is presently employed should have well established reputation & image and possibly known to the faculty members of the department in which the candidate is desirous of seeking PhD admission.
• If this is an enterprise or company, it is expected that it should have a listing in the premier stock exchanges and should have an annual turnover of at least 20 crore rupees.
• List of the reputed companies/ organizations/ firms should be updated regularly at the departmental level to verify the credentials.
• In case the department is not sure about the company/organization, the decision will be taken by a committee consisting of the Dean PGS&R, Dean UGS, Head of the Department/Centre/School and the Chairman CDC.
b) Defence or other ministries of the Government of India or any other government organizations;
c) Established industrial research and development organizations;
d) Autonomous bodies and public undertakings excluding academic institutions
2) Requisite Qualifications
a) The candidate must meet the following criteria to be shortlisted for interview and test. She/he should be having (at least) BTech/BE/MBBS/MSc degree (or equivalent degrees) from a reputed educational institution with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 in a 10 point scale or 75 percentage of marks in their Bachelor’s as well as Masters’ degree (if applicable). However, any conversion of CGPA to marks (or vice versa) to meet this criterion will not be permitted.
B) Experience: Two years of post qualification experience (experience may include stints at multiple organizations) for candidates holding Bachelor/Master degree in relevant disciplines.
c) Candidates need to provide a ‘NO OBJECTION’ certificate issued from their company, stating it has no issues with the candidate pursuing PhD under the proposed scheme: PhD Program for Working Professionals with Minimum Residential Requirements. No commitment of financial support or the continuation of their employment during or after the PhD is required.
3) Selection of the Candidate
a) Candidates who meet the above requirements should look out for prospective faculty members in the department where he/she is interested to register for his/her PhD degree.
b) A research proposal approved by the prospective supervisor must be submitted by the candidate at the time of the application.
c) The candidates fulfilling the above will have to appear for interview/test along with other regular candidates appearing for PhD admissions.

The eligibility criterion for admission to MMST students is MBBS Degree recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and having passed mathematics at +2 level (even as additional subject) or from any recognized Open University. Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC(Non creamy layer) candidates and persons with disability (PwD) as per Govt. of India rules.
Mode of Selection
MMST students - The selection is strictly based on the performance of the candidates in the written test of 2 hours duration. The candidate needs to answer 120 questions, out of which 75 questions are from the MBBS syllabi. The remaining questions are equally distributed to cover the syllabi of +2 level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries negative 0.25 marks.
Application Procedure:
MMST 2019 application is to be submitted by an ONLINE process by accessing the website http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in/mmst from 19 April 2019 till 06 May 2019. The candidate should first pay the Application Fee by obtaining a Demand Draft drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur on any nationalised bank payable at Kharagpur, West Bengal. The draft details, soft copy of photo and signature are required while filling up the ONLINE application form after successful submission of data. The Demand Draft along with submitted application form must be sent by speed post/courier so as to reach by 10 May 2019 to The Head, School of Medical Science and Technology, IIT Kharagpur, Kharagpur - 721302.
Following additional documents should be sent along with the printed Application Form:
1. Attested copy of EWS/OBC (Non-creamy)/SC/ST/PD certificate (if applicable)
2. Attested copies of MBBS Degree (recognized by MCI) with mark sheet of all yearsas a proof of obtaining a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

Candidates must possess First class Bachelor's degree in any branch of Engineering/ Technology or First class Master's degree In Science. Economics or Commerce with Mathematics or Statistics at Bachelor's level to be eligible to apply to the school. There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST candidates.
Institute uses CAT for short-listing the candidates for our MBA programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of programme. The school follows GOI norms on the reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates and persons with disability.
IIT Kharagpur is committed to ensure that a student's financial resources do not become a constraint for pursuing MBA education at the school. The school has put in place a liberal financial aid programme that offers partial or full assistance for upto 30% of the enrolled students, in addition, bank loans may be availed by students at preferential rates and payment terms to meet their fees and expenses. A candidate's need for financial resources for pursuing the MBA course will not be considered while taking the decision to offer admission to the candidate.

Selection Procedure for IIT, Kharagpur:
The selection of candidates is a two-step process.
In the first step, candidates are short-listed for GD-WA-PI from among candidates who have a valid CAT/GMAT score, who have applied for the program and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the program. An overseas category candidate who applies with a GMAT score instead of a CAT Score should have a total scaled score of at least 750.
Selection will be based on application rating, performance in CAT for domestic students and GMAT for international students, and the candidate’s performance in the group discussion, written analysis and personal interview (GD-WA-PI) round. Post qualification work experience in organizations will be given due consideration.
