National Institute of Public Health Training and Research (NIPHTR) Mumbai is the first Family Planning Training Centre, established in June 1957 under Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at "Parekh Hospital" Building, 332, S.V.P. Road, Khetwadi, Mumbai - 4. It is one of the Central Training Institutes (C.T.I.) conducting in-service training for Medical and Paramedical personnel in key health areas to enhance their knowledge and skills for better delivery of health care services These trainings are for the Central, State and District level health personnel from all over the country. The Centre is identified as a collaborating Institute for certain specialized training like Immunization, Communication, etc. NIPHTR has been a pioneering institute in conducting short term courses and has developed curricula for paramedical workforce e.g Multi-Purpose Workers, Community Health Guides, ANMs, Block Extension Educator Schemes and RCH.
Graduates in Medicine / AYUSH / Dentistry / Veterinary Sciences / Allied and Health Sciences / Life Sciences OR Graduates in Statistics / Biostatistics / Demography / Population Studies / Nutrition / Sociology / Psychology / Anthropology / Social Work
Age (Years): Minimum age 21 years
Selection: Selection of candidates will be by Commmon entrance test (CET) for regular courses.
Application Process:
1. Applications are to be submitted in a prescribed application form (available on NIPHTR Website) along with application fees of 200/- (No fees for SC/ST Candidates) through online mode or in the form of DD/Bankers cheque drawn in favour of “Director, National Institute of Public Health Training & Research” payable at Mumbai by Reg/ speed post only.
2. Candidates Belonging to SC/ST categories will be given relaxation in age as per government norms.
3. Field visit charges towards return journey by train/air, lodging & boarding charges to be borne by candidates separately.
4. SC/ST candidates are exempted from Tuition fees for Skill Based Training Courses.
5. Selection of the candidates will be by selection committee constituted by NIPHTR, Mumbai.
6. Accommodation will not be provided by NIPHTR, Mumbai to students of Skill based Training Programmes.
7. Boarding & lodging facilities will be provided by this institute to in-service sponsored candidates undergoing DHPE & PGDCHC course at Panvel Campus on payment as per scheduled rate for residential courses.
8. Hostel charges @ Rs. 500/- per month and mess charges as per actual will be applicable for residential courses.
