The National Institute of Technology
The Institute offers under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in three Engineering Departments: (1) Computer Science and Engineering (2) Electronics and Communication Engineering and (3) Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The Institute also offers Ph.D in all the three above mentioned engineering departments. Along with that the Institute offers Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics and English.
The Institute admits students into the B.Tech degree program on the basis of ranks obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE(
For M.Tech Programme, the Institute admits students through valid GATE score followed by CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech Admissions). Each department is offering 20 seats for the said programme, out of which 18 seats will be filled up through CCMT and the remaining 2 seats are meant for the sponsored candidates.

Candidates should have master’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline with a minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 60% marks in both bachelor’s and master’s levels from recognized technical institute or university. (Minimum 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
Candidates will be considered for Ph.D. program on the basis of GATE score.

Applications form, duly filled in, must contain a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- for General and OBC, and Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates. The DD should be drawn in favour of “Director NIT Goa” payable at Ponda,
Note: The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as “Application for full-time Ph.D. Program (Odd semester 2016-17) for the Department of ____”.
Selection Procedure for NIT,
The admission to Ph.D program will be on the criteria given below:
Overall academic performance and written test (fixed by the institute)
Performance in interview conducted by the respective department
Entrance Test: 07-08 December 2016

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering /Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with at least 60% marks or 6.5 in CGPA on a 10 point scale.
Reservation for OBC/SC/ST/PH candidates as per Govt. of India norms; applicants claiming reservation under OBC/SC/ST/PH is required to produce a valid certificate as in the Govt. prescribed format.
The certificate should have been issued on or after 01st January 2015.
Applicants from Academic Institutions/Industries/Research Organizations etc are only need to apply in this category; they must have a minimum two year full time continuous service in the sponsoring organization.
They have to attach duly completed Form-I (Sponsorship and NOC) along with the application; they are advised to come with experience certificate and other relevant documents such as pay-slip, appointment order and
Identity card with which they can convince the selection committee about their length of service in the sponsoring organization
The percentage of marks requirement for sponsored candidates may be relaxed up to 55% or 6.0 CGPA if documentary evidence of proven research and professional experience (publications, unpublished works) in the appropriate field are submitted.

The application form must be filled in all respect or else application will be treated as cancelled.
The filled in application form must be accompanied with an Application Fee of Rs. 500/- (for General/OBC) OR Rs. 300/- (for SC/ST) in the form of crossed Demand Draft in favor of "Director NIT Goa" payable at Ponda Goa otherwise, the application form will not be considered.
