Eligibility criteria for admission to Ph.D. degree in Sharda University

i.      A candidate must have cleared post-graduate (PG) degree or equivalent of minimum duration of 2 years from a UGC recognized Indian / foreign university in respective discipline with score of minimum 55% or equivalent CGPA. A 5% relaxation in score for SC/ST/OBC candidates ie minimum of 50% in PG degree or equivalent CGPA is allowed.

ii.     Clearing online Entrance Examination of Sharda University followed by interview.

iii.    Candidates with valid NET / GATE / SET / UET scores and any other equivalent test conducted by GOI accredited agency (to be decided by the selection committee) are exempted from entrance test but have to appear in interview. M.Phil. degree holders from UGC accredited universities are also exempted from entrance test but have to appear in interview.

DRC may consider the eligibility for admission of such candidate base on his/her published work/patents etc. If deemed necessary, DRC may suggest completion of few audit/credit courses for such candidates

Admissions to Ph.D. program (full-time and part-time) in Jan 2022 of Sharda University will be made strictly according to the merit and availability of seats through Entrance Test followed by Interview. Ph.D. Ordinance of Sharda University, available on its website, governs the Ph.D. Program. Full-time eligible students may get Fellowship as per Sharda University rules. ·         Diploma Holders can do only two years as lateral entry for admission into MD courses

Age limit - For clinical subjects: Maximum 30 years.

No age limit for MD - Non Clinical & all PG Diploma courses

The last date for filling up online application form is February 29, 2018. Selection Process: The result of only those candidates will be declared who will score qualifying marks in the entrance exam. A Candidate appearing for entrance examination for MDS will be eligible only if she/he:

1. has passed BDS examination from Recognised College / University in U.P. or any other state in the

Country.
2. has completed satisfactorily one year compulsory rotating internship from centers recognized by the Dental Council of India for this purpose.

3. registered permanently with State / Dental Council of India at the time of admission.

4. possesses certificate of good conduct from the Head of the Institution last attended.

The Candidate will also submit in original at the time of counseling / joining without which admission to P.G. Course shall not be granted.

Application:
Application form and information brochure are available at all the private dental colleges running the MDS course under the association against payment of Rs. 1000 as examination / test fee.

The Application form & OMR Sheet attached in information brochure should be filled correctly in candidates own handwriting and submitted to respective college. The application Form must be accompanied by the following certificates

a) Certificates of having passed BDS examination from institution recognized by DCI
b) Four copies of the recent photographs (passport size) duly attested by the Director / Principal of the College / Gazetted Officer or the employer in the case of those in employment.

c) Internship completion certificate certifying the date on which the candidate has completed one year's compulsory rotating internship.

d) A Certificate of good conduct from the Head of the Institution last attended.

e) Certificate of permanent Registration with State / Dental Council at the time of admission.

An application possessing any one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply

Master’s degree in respective discipline with a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 6.75 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) where marks are awarded

In exceptional cases a candidate with a B.Tech/BS degree with minimum 75% marks or CGPA of 8.0 may be directly enrolled in Ph.D in relaxation of the prescribed qualifications, provided he/she has 05 years professional experience

Interdisciplinary research is also allowed and the qualifications will be decided on case to case basis by CRC

Candidates must have consistently good academic records

Entrance Test:

The university shall conduct an entrance test followed by a group discussion/ interview for admission to Ph.D programme

The examination shall be conducted either at the university premises or through any other mode which the university deems suitable

Entrance Test shall be conducted twice in a year normally in December and June as prescribed by URC

UGC/CSIR (JRF), NET/GATE qualified candidates may be exempted from appearing in the entrance examination

Admission Procedure:

Admissions will be made after the candidate qualifies the entrance test/interview and deposits the fees within the time

The students shall be provisionally registered for Full Time and Part Time Ph.D programme at the initial stage and the date of provisional registration will be from the date of confirmation of admission

The candidates working elsewhere (both as teacher and non teacher), in academic institutions, industries or research laboratories may be registered as part time candidates provided no objection certificate (NOC) from the employer is submitted

Teaching and non teaching candidates from Sharda University seeking admission to Ph.D programme will be considered as part time student

A student of foreign nationality can be considered for admission if recommended by the competent authority of Govt of India

A foreign student can also be admitted and the entrance test/interview shall be performed online/personal interview and other formalities can be decided on case to case basis by CRC

Candidate   seeking admission to the MD/MS course must possess recognized MBBS degree awarded by a University recognised by the Medical Council of India and must have completed the required period of internship in a recognised hospital.

Only students who fall in any of these categories (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) are eligible for admission in Sharda University.

Note: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Computer studies are a must in pre qualification examination for all students applying for BTech

Important:

1.      Pre qualification examination criteria for all Under-Graduate programs should be Class 12th from any of the recognized boards of India. In case of foreign nationals the pre-qualification criteria for all Under –Graduate programs is the equivalent of Class 12th followed in that particular country and meets Association of Indian University guidelines.

2.      Students who have appeared for their Class 12th board or equivalent examination in Yr 2011 can also apply for under-graduate courses.

3.      Pre qualification examination criteria for all post-Graduate programs should be graduation from any of the recognized college/university of India. In case of foreign nationals the pre-qualification criteria for all post –Graduate programs is the equivalent of graduation followed in that particular country and meets association of Indian University guidelines.

4.      Students who have appeared for their Graduation final year examinations or equivalent examination in Yr 2011 can also apply for Post Graduate courses.

5.      Management has discretion to call the candidates for Personal Interview before final admission.

6.      TOEFL /IELTS compulsory for foreign national students who did not have English as their primary language of teaching.

7.      5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped for all the above mentioned courses, except where pass is the minimum requirement.

8.      Lateral Entries directly in second year are available for MBA and Master in Mass Communication, Advertising and Journalism but they will have to conform to the respective eligibility and selection criteria.

On successful application, the system will generate a unique ID & Password (Numeric) which will be candidate’s unique identification number throughout the admission process

An auto generated email will be sent to the candidate’s email id, containing the following information

Only students who fall in any of these categories (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) are eligible for admission in Sharda University.

Note: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Computer studies are a must in pre qualification examination for all students applying for BTech

Important:

1.      Pre qualification examination criteria for all Under-Graduate programs should be Class 12th from any of the recognized boards of India. In case of foreign nationals the pre-qualification criteria for all Under –Graduate programs is the equivalent of Class 12th followed in that particular country and meets Association of Indian University guidelines.

2.      Students who have appeared for their Class 12th board or equivalent examination in Yr 2009 can also apply for under-graduate courses.

3.      Pre qualification examination criteria for all post-Graduate programs should be graduation from any of the recognized college/university of India. In case of foreign nationals the pre-qualification criteria for all post –Graduate programs is the equivalent of graduation followed in that particular country and meets association of Indian University guidelines.

4.      Students who have appeared for their Graduation final year examinations or equivalent examination in Yr 2009 can also apply for Post Graduate courses.

5.      Management has discretion to call the candidates for Personal Interview before final admission.

6.      TOEFL /IELTS compulsory for foreign national students who did not have English as their primary language of teaching.

7.      5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically handicapped for all the above mentioned courses, except where pass is the minimum requirement.

8.      Lateral Entries directly in second year are available for MBA and Master in Mass Communication, Advertising and Journalism but they will have to conform to the respective eligibility and selection criteria.

Available on website (http://www.sharda.ac.in). Application must be accompanied by a certificate from the Head of Institution, where the faculty is working, detailing their status, year of experience, current pay scale and No-Objection Certificate.

Online exam (SURE)/ Sharda Scholarship Carnival. Performance in class 12th board examinations

Note: 1 Mathematics/ Statistics / Computer Science /Information as a compulsory subject in Class 10th exam, for students applying for BCA program.

2 Admissions for BDS will be as per Dental Council of India Guidelines. Students applying for BDS need not write the Sharda University Online examination.

3 Biology as a compulsory subject in Class 12th for BDS , MBBS , B.Sc. Biotech, B.P.T., B.Sc. (Nursing), DIP, DMLT, DOTT.
